The Number...

The first day of class, my communications professor made us think of a number, out of one hundred, that showed how comfortable we were with public speaking. Public speaking is definitely not one of my strengths. I don't despise it, but if I can avoid it, I will. So, I thought for a while and assessed my public speaking comfortability as a 25. I was very intimidated by the class in the beginning of the semester. Our first project was an introduction speech. I was definitely nervous during my speech and maybe I could've done better if I wasn't nervous. It was the first time talking in front of the whole class and it felt intimidating. My anxiety got better with every project we had. The audio video speech and the impromptu speech went a lot better. I was not as nervous, maybe because I knew I knew my audience and wasn't too intimidated by the people I was talking to.
Well, if I have to think of a number that describes my comfortability with public speaking, it would be about 45. The number has increased because I feel more calm and relaxed when I have to talk in front of a lot of people. Public speaking is still not my favorite thin to do, but I have learned to cope with it in my own way. Giving a speech is not as stressful of an experience as it was in beginning of the semester.

My Perfect Day

8:00am I will get up, drink my orange juice, and have a light breakfast while I read the paper. Then I will go for a short walk with my dog and come back to get ready for school.

10:00am I will go to school for my classes. I will only have three classes every day.

2:00pm I will be done with my classes and will head home. I will take my dog out again and get ready for lunch.

3:00pm I will have a late lunch with my friends so we can catch up with what's been going on in our lives.

5:00pm I will be home and I will start on my homework. I will be finished in two hours.

7:00pm I will be finished with my homework and I will help my mom make dinner. Then I'll have dinner with my parents.

9:00pm I will take my puppy out again and then I'll go back home and read a book before I go to bed.

11:00pm I will go to bed so I can get a good sleep and be fresh and ready for the next day!

The Perfect Mate

I think it can be very hard to plan your ideal mate because most of the time we meet someone who is very different from the person we have dreamed of, but for some unknown reason we fall in love with that person and the long list of requirements is lost in the past. I will do my best; however, to describe what my idea of a perfect guy consists of. Here we go...
One of the most important qualities that I look for in the opposite sex is honesty. I want to be spend my life with someone who is completely honest with me at all times. One thing that I can't forgive is lying. I would like to be with someone who has a good sense of humor and can make the best of every situation even in times of a crisis. I consider myself to be very serious and I would like to be with someone who will be able to see the good in every situation. I would also like to be with someone who is respectful of me, who I am, and what I do. I don't necessarily want to be with someone who has the same interests as me, but I do want to be with someone who respects me and what I do for a living.
I would lie if I say that looks don't matter. The first impression you receive when you meet someone comes from the way the person looks. I don't have any particular physical characteristics that I am looking for in a guy. I believe in love from first sight and I think that when I see someone very special, I will feel the connection and will know that he is the guy that I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Awesome Job

Ever since I was little, I dreamed to be a doctor. My parents and everyone around me thought it was just a phase that every child goes through, and they didn't think I would stick to my childhood dream later in my life. Well, now that I am a freshman in college, I am absolutely positive that I want to go to medical school and become a doctor one day.
My dream is to work for Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. It is the best medical institution in the country. The hospital is committed to excellence and nothing less than that. It provides not only numerous job opportunities, but it also provides research opportunities, new therapies that improve the medical discoveries. I would love to be a surgeon in that kind of an environment where everyone is passionate and committed to succeed in everything they do. Being a surgeon will give me the opportunity to relieve people's pain and help them lead a better lifestyle - a significant part of my awesome job. I would love to be a surgeon and operate on people, but I'm also interested in new medical discoveries. Johns Hopkins has many opportunities for drug research or new therapy improvements. The awesome job that I dream of will give me the chance to not only practice medicine but also to be a part of improving the quality of today's medicine by working on research projects.
It is very easy to plan and dream about what your awesome job would be, but it also requires a lot time and effort to follow that dream. It has to become a goal that you dedicate all your time, effort, and hard work to.
